Shubhro Sen
As an entrepreneur, consultant and educator, Dr. Shubhro Sen brings a rich and diverse experience profile to the leadership role at TMTC. He is the Co-founder and Executive Director of the Conscious Capitalism Institute [www.consciouscapitalism.org] as well as a trustee of the non-profit Conscious Capitalism Inc. He also serves on the boards of several organizations in the US and India.
Starting in 1987, Dr. Sen has been a co-founder and CEO of multiple businesses in the US and India and has led them to market success as well as to successful exits [Digiflex, IPO; eCredit.com/SR Research: acquisition by NASD: ICGE; Meteor Inc: acquisition]. In 2000, he founded and became CEO of PowerShare, a venture funded developer of investment management software and provider of outsourcing services. In 2003, he co-founded and became Executive Publisher of FSO [www.fsokx.com], a publication and portal dedicated to financial services outsourcing and a global leader in its sector. In 2007, he joined g8Wave, a global mobile media and marketing services firm [NASD: GEWV], becoming Managing Director, Asia Pacific as well as Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy. He was a core member of the team responsible for M&A as well as the company IPO/Reverse merger. Dr. Sen enjoyed a 10 year academic career from 1982-92 including stints as a Lecturer at the University of Illinois, Urbana and the Haas School of Business, U.C. Berkeley [1985-87] and as Assistant Professor in the Marketing Department at Northeastern University, Boston[1987-92]. In November 2008, he returned to academia to become a Visiting Professor in the Marketing Department, Bentley University. Subsequently, he served on the faculty of the Carroll school of Management, Boston College. During this period he also developed and conducted executive education courses for a variety of corporate clients. As a consultant on Decision Support Systems, M&A and Global Sourcing Strategies, Dr. Sen has worked with over 50 global corporations, including Apple Computer, Citibank, State Street Bank, Experian, Safeway, Nomura Securities and Boston Financial as well as governments and development agencies from several countries. A globally recognized expert on IT & Business Process Outsourcing, Dr. Sen is a pioneer in “Enterprise Outsourcing Management” [EOM], a stakeholder centric approach to global sourcing strategy and service delivery as well as the creator of the Outsourcing Quotient, OQtm, a composite measure of outsourcing performance which, for the first time, includes explicit assessment of the impact of outsourcing on communities and other key local stakeholders in the calculation of the net enterprise benefits of such initiatives. He received his Ph.D. in Marketing & Strategic Management from the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley where he was a “Flood” and a “Shansby” Fellow as well as the recipient of a research fellowship at the Federal Trade Commission. He received an M.S in Finance from the University of Illinois, Urbana; an M.A in International Relations from the School of International Studies, Nehru University, Delhi and a B.A [Honors] in Economics from Delhi University where he was recognized with a Rector’s prize for outstanding undergraduate achievement. He began his professional journey as a “Tea Taster” in India and had his own talk shows on Indian national television and radio for a number of years. He is a hiking, golf and cricket enthusiast. |
