Arul Dev is basically an Engineer from BITS Pilani. Quite early in life, he realized that his purpose was to lead a life that is spiritually deepening and materially fulfilling. To embody this vision, he founded People First in February 1995 focusing on training, consultancy and recruitment. Through these 17 years, his approach has been radical and authentic. He focused on building an evolving workplace where the team embodies excellence in their work and services and at the same time be highly ethical and value-centered, respect people and practice honoring each other’s deeper aspirations.
Arul has been guiding People First in its executive search and recruitment services to build a unique niche and reputation. Clients are carefully chosen on the basis of synergy, services and culture. Once a client is chosen People First works in-depth on all requirements across their divisions. Focus is not only on closure of positions but on careful selection of candidates who are competent and resonate with the client’s culture and the overall vision. People First, thus operates not only as a vendor but as a true partner to the client’s overall growth and development. From 1995, in the training and consulting space, his work included using behavioral sensitivity and skills development approaches for holistic management practices, and workshops on memory management, results management and people management. From 2004, his work deepened to offer experiential workshops using NLP processes for inner psychological change and transformation. He supported Dr Richard Mc Hugh on the Intensive Basic and Advanced NLP trainings in and outside India. During his time with NLP he deeply explored the nuances of the field and has learnt certain deep psychological processes. These support one to create changes in a harmonious way, in alignment with one’s true inner nature. This expertise is further deepening in his current exploration of Integral Yoga. In 2007 there was a turning point in his life. He started becoming aware of the dimension of the evolution of consciousness and this shifted his worldview, his life journey and his work. His initial exploration was with Spiral Dynamics based on the works of Dr. Don Beck. Later, he was involved with an organisation called EnlightenNext, a global organisation committed to the evolution of culture and consciousness, and was for a short period conducting sessions in India based on their teachings. This journey of transformation continued and further evolved through contact with the spiritual visionary work of Sri Aurobindo and his Integral Yoga framework. This guided the inception of Telos, along with Manoj Pavitran of Auroville. Telos is a both a research and consulting initiative that explores and works on evolution of consciousness, both individual and collective. As part of the Telos, he offers workshops on ‘Swadharma’, ‘Integral Education’ and ‘Integral Development’ using the Telos framework and model. For organisations he offers workshops on Leadership Development using a Consciousness Centered approach. He also coaches people on a 1:1 basis using a comprehensive Telos diagnostic tool that maps the states of consciousness present in different areas of one’s life. The Telos team expanded with the association of Dr Devdas Menon a senior faculty of IIT-M. He now works with Devdas Menon on ‘Self Awareness and Higher Goals in Education (SAHGE)’ course for teachers in various educational institutions. He is a guest faculty for an elective course on ‘Self Awareness’ in IIT, Madras. Currently, he is co-authoring a book on ‘Self-Awareness’ along with Devdas Menon and Manoj Pavitran. |
